Ermes Future D.R. (Double Roll) Wooden Speargun Mechanism
Ermes Future D.R. (Double Roll) Mechanism for wooden speargun builds is 100% handmade in Italy. This mechanism utilises the Roll system, combined with another roller that interacts with the trigger, thanks to its internal innovative components (patented).
This system allows sensitivity on the trigger, unheard before with traditional mechanisms, to high loads whilst maintaining very light trigger pulls. The Roll system has a maximum of 0.5 kg trigger holding a force of 300 kg !!! Watch video here: https://youtu.be/ZZGdaQg6K2w
The Future from Ermes-Sub uses the same smooth action double roller system as the Double Roll Wings mechanism, but it is slightly more compact. The compact size makes it preferable for high handle builds where the builder is using a wooden handle mortised into the speargun.
It presents internally two rollers of diameter 7mm in 17-4 PH steel, for greater strength, wear resistannce and minimal friction. One of the two rollers is independently constrained to the housing by means of a roll-pin that lets it move freely in its seat.
The other roller is fixed to the front of the sear lever and is captured between two longitudinal cheek plates that run parallel to the sear. This roller supports the sear directly on the trigger, limiting the friction that is created between the sear lever and trigger, preventing seizure between the two components when they are subjected to strong traction. The sear lever is composed of 3 pieces joined and made integral with each other by two screws, that combined measure 10mm in thickness of stainless steel, giving enormous rigidity and strength.
The stainless steel of the mechanism is highly polished, with all edges radiused and smoothed. Mounting of this mechanism is in-line, with only three screws from above. It does not need shims for adjustment.
The Future - Double Roll model comes with a long top right side line release. This can be changed to the left side as required.
There is also an option to choose a standard long trigger model or a short trigger length for narrower speargun builds.
