Never before has there been a tube speargun incorporating so many unique build features resulting in ease of use and undoubtedly the highest performance yet achieved in this style of speargun.

The Meandros Argo BW  Blue-Water Speargun is the "Beast" in the Meandros Speargun stable. It responds to the needs most demanding hunters that are not satisfied with simple tubular spearguns, specifically for use in bluewater hunting. It is identified by its neon high visibility green handle and oval shaped higher volume and mass barrel.

One of the highlights of the Meandros Argo BW is the triple rubber muzzle, allowing the 3 bands to be held perfectly parallel and to be all pulled to the upper side of centre for utmost accuracy and recoil reduction.The offset positions and spacings of each rubber and the flat lifting plates gives streamlined conformation of all rubbers parallel to the spear, making the speargun highly maneuverable.

This is no ordinary muzzle! The muzzle has incorporated a substantial and adjustable ballasting system, internally threaded to the spigot and all made of 316 stainless steel. This makes these spearguns capable of the band load forces required for blue-water hunting and further reduces recoil.

Muzzle features a low profile, internal horizontal reel line guide S/S pin and a through hole for muzzle bungee attachment. Ambidextrous line-wrap plates are present on the muzzle, along with another Meandros first - adjustable line lock cheek plates. These grooves can be screw-adjusted and they capture and hold the line throughout the re-rigging process.

Muzzle takes 14-15mm diameter rubber and comes fitted with with triple OBD 14 or 15mm Micro Gomma Rubbers and Meandros Speed Bridle Inserts with 2mm dyneema bridge.

The speargun comes rigged with an OBD made breakaway setup, comprised of 2mm line, synthetic bungee, 450lb double bearing pigtail swivel with multi-plaited ring attachment for floatline.

Speargun rigging is completed with a Devoto 7.5mm finned spear with cone and a shark clip with swivel fitted to the handle. 

The further strength and buoyancy of the Argo BW barrel allows the use of heavy shafts and multiple rubbers, as used in blue-water hunting. The oval shaped barrel provides enormous strength and much greater floatation as well as better horizontal stability for panning and aiming.

The Argo BW is fitted with one of the most advanced ergonomic LEADER handles with a particularly low profile and a non-slip grip. There is a choice of neon green or blue in a universal style, or a blue right handed anatomic grip. It has a loading butt and inverted full stainless steel heavy duty trigger mechanism with minimal weight and maximum sensitivity.

The reverse mechanism extends the loading length by 9.5 cm over conventional spearguns. It has an ambidextrous mechanical side line release, water balance to improve shaft speed, reduced friction guide and ambidextrous shooting line guide. Included bore hole allows easy adaptations to invert and roller style spearguns.

A milestone and benchmark is the revolutionary pin roller system. Meandros was the inventor of the the patented pin roller system. This offers reduced friction with zero wear at the point of contact with the bar but also distributes the load received from the bar at 3 points - two contact points at the housing and one point at the hook, which now accepts a small part of the pressure exerted and not 100% of it. The hook now has a much lower pressure at the point of contact with the trigger, with the result that the pressure exerted on the trigger to release the shaft is much less than a classic type reverse mechanism.

The included reel mount of the handle will fit any of the Meandros Reels, or other flat mount fixed reel. Handle comes with a sophisticated safety uniquely positioned in the base of the trigger guard.

The heavy-duty hydrodynamic oval shaped barrel is made of aluminum alloy with an integrated hydroplaning guide/ rail. This delivers stiffness with an ideal weight ratio and a fairly large, almost neutral positive buoyancy of 5.69 gr / cm. Neutral buoyancy in a heavy-duty cannon version is perceived by the user as a resilient, agile and powerful fishing tool. It has full anodising protection per piece, not per bar. The thickness of the barrel wall intentionally varies slightly, averaging 1.5 mm, through the circumference, for greater stiffness and strength.

Due to the elongated triple muzzle and the extreme reverse mechanism, the Argo BW Bluewater Speargun provides exceptional load lengths for the same barrel lengths of other spearguns.

For example, the 130cm size has an overall length of 1605mm, with impressive actual load lengths for each rubber of: 143cm, 145cm and 148cm.
